Focus spaces are critical to the everyday work of IBM employees. While the workplace ultimately supports all types of work, ensuring employees can focus independently is paramount. These space types vary in scale and configuration to support different activities.
Focus room
Focus rooms provide an acoustically private space for focus work, confidential calls and other independent work. Two configurations can be provided.
Desk
The focus room desk configuration provides an ergonomic, enclosed space for IBM employees to perform heads-down, individual tasks. Technology tools are provided to enable seamless transitions from space to space so individuals can quickly log in and maintain efficiency.

Reading
The focus reading room configuration is a space for IBM employees to perform focus tasks requiring minimal technology in a comfortable setting.

Private office
Private offices may be bookable or assigned to executives in Band A or Band AA. Each provides room for private focus work with one or more team members.
Bookable private office
The bookable private office provides an informal setting for small groups to work without interruption. Each office has a variety of technology tools and furniture settings to support brainstorming, individual work and collaboration. These offices are bookable by all IBM employees.
