Calculating tracks z/OS JES2 Commands SA32-0990-00 |

Figure 1 shows how the highest track used on the
source volume dictates the amount of space that is required on the
target volume. The starting track and highest used tracks of the source
spool data set are used to calculate the total number of tracks that
are required on the target volume to house the source spool data set.
Note: A highly fragmented spool volume can potentially require
significantly more space on the target volume than the actual size
of the allocated tracks on the source volume.
