Procedures for removing the PCI-X adapter on the xSeries 306 server.

Text from the audio portion of removing the PCI-X adapter movie

To remove a PCI-X adapter :

  1. Remove the cover:
    1. Turn off the server and all attached peripheral devices.
    2. Disconnect all power cords and all external signal cables.
    3. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the server, then slide the cover to the rear and lift it off.
  2. Remove a PCI-X adapter:
    1. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the server .
    2. Lift the riser card assembly straight up off the connector.
    3. Place the assembly on the static–protected surface.
  3. To remove the slot cover:
  4. Slide the cover out of the opening.
  5. If an adapter were installed it could be removed at this time.
