RJE workstations use the facilities of an SNA network to gain access to JES2 through VTAM®. During VTAM system definition, these RJE stations (for example, 3790 terminals, 3770 terminals, and the System/32 workstation) are defined to VTAM as logical units (LUs) and physical units (PUs). The installation must decide at VTAM system definition how to tailor the JES2/VTAM support for its SNA stations because the parameters of the LU and PU VTAM definition statements affect not only how JES2 operates, but also how the remote operator uses the station.
