Running and viewing reports for quality management
You can run reports to display data for specific parameters that retrieve the status of your testing projects.
Before you begin
- Report Builder: Choose an LQE-based data source, create reports, and export them to spreadsheets, IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing, Microsoft Word, PDF documents, and HTML files. You can export graphs to image files or documents. For details, see Authoring reports with Report Builder.
- Template-based reporting in ELM applications: Generate simple, document-style reports.
- Engineering Publishing: Create document-style reports that include a cover page, table of contents, and copyright statement. For details, see Authoring document-style reports.

Editing report names, descriptions, or folders
Procedure
- Click to view all shared reports, or to view all of your private reports.
- Select the type of report.
- In the Actions column for the report, click the Edit
Report icon (
). - Edit the Name, Description, and Folder fields, and then click Save.
Saving report parameters
If you run a report repeatedly, you can save the parameters for quick reuse.

Moving or copying reports or report folders
You can move a report into a different folder, or you can create copies of the reports, enabling you to have multiple copies of the same report with different parameters.
Procedure
- Open the list of reports.
- In the Actions column for the report or folder, click the Move/Copy icon
(
) for a report or folder. - Select the folder to move or copy the report or folder to.
- Click Move to move the report or folder or Copy to copy the report or folder.
- Click OK.
- The report or folder is listed in the folder that you selected to move or copy it to.
Adding report folders
You can move a report into a different folder, or you can create copies of the reports, enabling you to have multiple copies of the same report with different parameters.
Procedure
- Open the list of reports.
- Click the Create Folder icon (
). - Enter a name and description for the report folder.
- Select a project or team area for the folder.
- Specify if the folder is shared.
- Click Save.
- The folder appears in the list of report folders..
Exporting report results
You can export report results to external applications.
About this task
Procedure
- After you run a report, click the Export icon
(
).
- In the Format field of the dialog box, select the application type. You can choose from PDF, Postscript, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Click Submit.
- Choose to open the report or save it to another location, and then click OK.
Printing a report
You can print the report results.
Procedure
- Click the Reports tab.
- View the report that you want to print.
- Click the View report in printable format button
in the page menu. The report opens in a printable format in a new browser tab.
- Use your browsers standard Print function to print the report.
Deleting reports
You can delete quality management reports in the My Reports view or the Shared Reports view.
Procedure
- Open the list of reports.
- In the Actions column for the report, click the Delete
Report icon (
). - Click OK when prompted to delete the report.
Deleting reports in the Engineering Workflow Management Eclipse client
You can delete quality management reports using the Engineering Workflow Management Eclipse client.
Before you begin
Procedure
- Start the Engineering Workflow Management Eclipse client.

In the Team Artifacts view, connect to the Engineering Test Management server and
open a project area by adding a repository connection, for example
https://hostname.example.com:9443/qm. - In the Team Artifacts view, expand the project.
- Delete the report.

is listed in the folder that you selected to save it to.
