Requirements to use Fix Central

The following lists the requirements for your client system and your System i to use Fix Central.

Note that you must have a valid IBM user ID and password. Register for an IBM user ID.

You may use Fix Central to order fixes without connecting to your system. This is especially useful if your system is not connected to a network or cannot access the Internet. You may download virtual images of the fixes you select using FTP or Download Director, or order your fixes on physical media, without connecting to your system. Connecting to your system, however, also allows you to customize your order by only ordering the PTFs needed by the system you connect to, download fixes to your system immediately, or download virtual images using Download Director directly to an image catalog on your system.
