Dataset Attribute Group Extract dialog box

You use this dialog box to issue the Dataset Attribute Group Extract command to extract attribute data. The action that you define targets the data set attribute groups that you select. This panel prepares the output data set that will contain the extracted data. The data set will be allocated if it does not exist. The Space Units section initially displays the calculated block size for the output data set. When you change the Units field to either tracks or cylinders, the Value field will show N/A.

These values are remembered by the application and used when you resubmit the action again (either manually via the Storage Toolkit workspace, or via a schedule or situation). As the contents of an attribute group change over time, the primary and secondary size allocations used in the original action may no longer support extracting the data. This should be taken into account when creating the original action. Consider changing the secondary allocation to accommodate the maximum number of records possible for the attribute group or groups.
