Operating environment
IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration requires a supported operating environment for deployment.
The following describes the supported operating environment for IBM Cloud Pak for Integration release 2023.4 :
Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform version 4.12 and 4.14 only.
Cloud Pak for Integration supports installing:
On a single-node cluster. For more information, see Installing on a single node OpenShift (SNO) cluster.
On a cluster that uses OpenShift hosted control planes, such as Red Hat® OpenShift® Service on AWS (ROSA) with hosted control planes (HCP). For more information, see Red Hat OpenShift hosted control planes.
Cloud Pak for Integration does not support installing on an OpenShift cluster with multi-architecture compute machines.
IBM Cloud Pak foundational services version 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, and 4.6 only.
Supported architectures:
amd64
s390x
Supported instance types are Platform UI, App Connect, Kafka cluster, High-speed transfer server, Queue manager, API management, Event Endpoint Manager, and Event Gateway.
Includes support for Linux on IBM Z and IBM zCX Foundation for Red Hat OpenShift (zCX). For more information, see What is z/OS Container Extensions? in the z/OS documentation.
ppc64le
Supported instance types are Platform UI, App Connect, Kafka cluster, and Queue manager.
Includes support for Linux on IBM Power.
Multi-zone and single-zone deployments, where appropriate storage providers are available to support that deployment model
Included environments
Cloud Pak for Integration runs on any OpenShift environment. This includes but is not limited to:
A cluster deployed manually using Installer Provisioned Infrastructure or User Provisioned Infrastructure.
For installations on AWS, see Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for specific environment details including storage.
For installations on Azure, see Supported options on Microsoft Azure for specific environment details including storage.
For other installations, including on-premise, see Storage considerations for storage requirements.
A managed cluster from a cloud provider, including:
IBM Satellite. See Supported options on Microsoft Azure or Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS), depending on the cloud provider where the cluster nodes are running.
Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud. For more information, see Supported options on IBM Cloud.
Azure Red Hat OpenShift. For more information, see Supported options on Microsoft Azure.
Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS. For more information, see Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The level of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform provided must meet the minimum requirement for the version of Cloud Pak for Integration you are installing. For versions of OpenShift Container Platform that are compatible with the Cloud Pak for Integration release, see Operating environment. For more information about the schedule for OpenShift Container Platform versions supported by OpenShift on AWS, see "Life cycle dates" in Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS update life cycle.
Excluded environments
IBM Cloud Pak for Integration is not available in other environments, such as Docker or open-source Kubernetes distributions.
