Suggested CARLa program solutions - Scope reports
Notes regarding the previously shown CARLa code used for producing the customized “Scope reports”.
-
The field HIGH_ACCESS that is defined by the DEFINE statement is only used in the ISPF output format (when DISPLAY is used instead of SORTLIST). It stores the highest access that this user ID has per resource class. If you use this report only in print layout, you can remove the entire DEFINE statement from the CARLa program.
-
The output modifier PAGE causes a page break to occur as soon as the value for the pertinent field changes.
-
The output modifier TOPTITLE redirects the output destination to be the top title instead of printing the pertinent value in the report.
-
The output modifier NONDISPL (short for non-display) suppresses the output of the pertinent field in the report. In this example, this output modifier is used to sort the report by class and profile, without printing the KEY as the second report column. Looking at the SORTLIST more closely, you discover that the field KEY is used twice. Only the first time the output is suppressed by using the NONDISPL output modifier.
