Backing up and restoring Installation Manager
You can back up Installation Manager by using operating system functions, or by using a backup tool.

Important: These steps do not apply to installed packages. To
back up and restore a package, see the documentation for the package.
Backing up Installation Manager
Procedure
Important: Create the backups of the directories
at the same time to keep the directories synchronized for the restore
process.
Create a copy of these directories:
- Agent data directory
For more information about the default locations of the agent data directory, see Agent data location.
- Shared resources directory
The following resources determine the shared resources directory and describe how to list the installed packages:
- Viewing installed packages by using wizard mode
- Listing installed packages by using console mode
- Listing installed packages by using the imcl command
- Installation Manager installation directory
Complete one of the following procedures to determine the installation directory for Installation Manager:
- View the properties of the Installation Manager shortcut on your computer.
- Use the
-verbose
option with thelistInstalledPackages
command, see Listing installed packages by using the imcl command. - On Windows, click .
