Learn how to replace the rear USB cable that is part of
a service action.
To complete the following procedure, you must have removed
the rear USB cable from the system. For instructions, see Removing the rear USB cable from the 8247-42L, 8286-41A, or 8286-42A.
To replace the
rear USB cable, complete the following steps:
- Ensure
that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and
that the ESD clip is connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not,
do so now.
- Insert the rear USB cable housing (A) into
the opening on the rear of the system at location P1-T1, P1-T2, as
shown in Figure 1,
or Figure 2 for
the stand-alone version of the 8286-41A.
- Route the cable along the right side of the chassis.
- Plug the other end of the rear USB cable (C) into
the connector on the system backplane.
