YFS_ZIP_CODE_LOCATION table not populated in COC environments by default.

Question & Answer

Question

How do you populate YFS_ZIP_CODE_LOCATION table in IBM Commerce on Cloud environment?

Cause

The YFS_ZIP_CODE_LOCATION table is not populated by default upon setting the IBM COC environment.

Answer

As per the product design, the YFS_ZIP_CODE_LOCATION will not be loaded by default during installation.
You need to execute the UCD task - 'Load Optional DB2 Scripts' to load the table.

IBM provides a pre-populated set of US zipcodes as a starter sample for customers to use with Order Management.
Clients typically use these values for their initial testing and early phases of deployment.  Clients who work closely with carriers and carrier aggregation systems, usually need a more granular and up-to-date version of this data. Such clients choose to repopulate this table with zipcode data sourced from their logistics partners.

Because of the low usage of the starter sample data for real-world production usage, IBM does not guarantee the accuracy of this information with up-to-date sourcing of this data.
