Workspace issues with new Cognos 11.1.7 in Control Center 6.1.3.0

Troubleshooting

Problem

Required upgrade to Cognos 11.1.7 Long Term Support release to apply fixes no longer made in 11.0.13 and for compatibility with newer JRE 8 releases. NOTE: MSSQL JDBC driver 7.4.1 causes workspaces to fail.

Cause

Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver 7.4.1 fails to return column metadata when table name includes underscore character

Environment

MSSQL database used for Control Center.

Diagnosing The Problem

Review the errors in the Control Center data collector. Verify the JDBC Driver used.

XQE-V5-0005 Identifier not found

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this workspace issue, use the 7.2.2 driver (i.e. mssql-jdbc-7.2.2.jre8.jar).
