WMS: Is it required to configure a new barcode if users want to pack shipments for a complete batch in pack HDSE screen?

Troubleshooting

Problem

WMS: Is it required to configure a new barcode if users want to pack shipments for a complete batch in pack HDSE screen?

Symptom

No. It is not required to add an extra barcode to pack the shipments against BatchNo in Pack HSDE screen.
System provides the required logic internally and processes the shipment packing against the scanned BatchNo.

Translation Logic:
In the Pack HSDE screen, when users scan a barcode in the Scan identifier field:

  1.  Scanned barcode gets translated against ShipmentNo barcode initially based on the preference provided under Pack Initiation barcode.
  2.  If the translation is not successful and system does not find a shipment for the scanned data,
Translation is checked against the BatchNo.
  3.  Once system finds the BatchNo, it populates the details of the shipment included in the batch.

Note: This feature is introduced in Sterling Supply Chain Application 7.5SP1 HF92.

What happens if BatchNo translator is added under Pack initiation and the preference of this barcode type is higher than the shipment?
Translation becomes successful, but no records will be returned on the UI / pack screen. This is currently not handled in the Sterling application.
