Windows STAP installation fails due to STAP installation directory not being empty

Troubleshooting


Problem

From GIM.log
Startup: Starting configuration of Windows S-TAP 11.3.0.159
Options: -UNATTENDED
Options: -INSTALLPATH c:\Program Files (x86)\Guardium Installation Manager
Options: -INSTALLERLOGPATH c:
InstallPath: Install path is valid checking if empty
InstallPath: User supplied non empty path c:\Program Files(x86)\Guardium Installation Manager installing to: c:\Program Files(x86)\Guardium Installation Manager\IBM\Windows S-TAP
InstallPath: Final install path c:\Program Files(x86)\Guardium Installation Manager\IBM\Windows S-TAP is not empty aborting the install
Finish: SETUP ABORTED

Resolving The Problem

Issue due to previous STAP uninstall attempt that did not completely remove the contents of the STAP installation directory.
After completing the steps within the following technote to manually uninstall STAP was then successfully able to install STAP.
