Question & Answer
Question
Will CDT deploy YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER table?
Answer
Business Scenario:
The customer gets "Invalid ItemId-UOM-OrganizationCode Combination" error while creating an item.
Whenever the Sterling Application creates an Item, it validates the UOM from the YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER table.
The customer gets "Invalid ItemId-UOM-OrganizationCode Combination" error while creating an item.
Whenever the Sterling Application creates an Item, it validates the UOM from the YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER table.
The customer had created new UOMs for their
organization in test environment. They then did a CDT to the production
environment. After CDT, when they created an Item(in production), they faced an
"Invalid ItemId-UOM-OrganizationCode Combination". This is because of missing
records in YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER table. The records are missing because CDT did
not deploy the YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER table.
Explanation:
By
rule, CDT will not transfer any master data and YFS_ITEM_UOM_MASTER falls under
this category. Hence, it (CDT) does not deploy this table.
As a solution, one can treat this table as a custom table and go
ahead with the deployment. However, this does not guarantee data
integrity.
Please note that for master data, it is
user’s responsibility to migrate the item and related table data (to
ensure data integrity) to target database and not just rely on the
CDT.
