Question & Answer
Question
Why does DB2 Document Manager (DM) store files in the C:\Program Files\IBM\DB2 Document Manager when DM Server is installed in another location?
Cause
It is likely that the Client was installed after the Server into two different locations. The Client location becomes the %DMROOT% directory and will cause the Server to begin saving temporary files to the location of the Client.
Answer
When installed on a single workstation, the Server and Client should always be installed in the same directory.
In order to resolve this issue, you will need to follow the steps outlined below:
- Uninstall the DB2 Document Manager Client on the system.
- Clean up any remaining client files in the installation directory of the Client.
- (OPTIONAL - if you need the client) Reinstall the client to the Server directory.
- Go to the Microsoft Windows Add/Remove panel select IBM DB2 Document Manager and click Change. On the Program Maintenance page choose Repair. This will reset the environment variable for %DMROOT% to the Server directory.
- Reboot the computer.
- Confirm Server directory is now being used.
Server should begin to save temporary files to the proper location.
