Troubleshooting
Problem
When trying to work with DB2, the following error is displayed:
SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "19" ("USERID DISABLED or RESTRICTED"). SQLSTATE=08001
Resolving The Problem
The above error can mean several things. The first things you should check are the obvious items such as the username and password being correct. Then check the user account to verify that the user isn't actually disabled or locked in any way. If all of those look good, check the Group Policy settings.
In a command prompt, run gpedit.msc
A dialog similar to the following should display:
The area of concern is under Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment, and the 2 settings of concern are "Access this computer from the network" and "Deny access to this computer from the network":
"Access this computer from the network" should have Administrators, DB2ADMINS, and DB2USERS in it at a minimum.
"Deny access to this computer from the network" is normally empty, but should not have any users in it that need DB2 access.
