WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Centralized Install Manager binary files do not exist error

Troubleshooting

Problem

You notice the following message when using the Centralized Installation Manager (CIM) if you attempt to install an interim fix before you download the Update Installer: "The installation binary files required for the _install_package_name_ or its dependent package Update Installer for WebSphere Application Server for _workstation_platform_ do not exist."

Cause

When using the Centralized Installation Manager (CIM) the following message is displayed if you attempt to install an interim fix before you download the Update Installer:

"The installation binary files required for the _install_package_name_ or its dependent package Update Installer for WebSphere Application Server for _workstation_platform_ do not exist."

Note: After downloading the latest version of the IBM® Update Installer for Websphere Application Server to the Centralized Installation Manager repository, you are not required to install the Update Installer. Once the Update Installer is in the repository, the Centralized Installation Manager is capable of installing it.

Resolving The Problem

Make sure you have the latest version of the Update Installer placed in the CIM repository. If the Update Installer is not installed on the installation target, the Centralized Installation Manager installs the Update Installer automatically before installing any interim fixes, fix packs, or refresh packs.
