Abstract
WebSphere Application Server OSS Framework Support Statement
Content
WebSphere Application Server itself ships a number of OSS frameworks as part of the application server offering. These frameworks are supported as part of the application server. A list of the included frameworks can be found in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center
Customers might want to use WebSphere Application Server with many related OSS frameworks to meet their business needs. IBM expects that WebSphere Application Server will function reliably with a related framework if:
– The related framework conforms to the J2EE™/Java EE™ specification, and/or
– The IBM Business Partner (who owns, creates, maintains, publishes, sells, or delivers the related product or framework) claims that WebSphere Application Server works with their framework
For customers that have an active IBM Support for WebSphere Application Server support contract, IBM will work with the customer in a commercially reasonable manner to help solve the customer problem or determine that the problem source is outside of WebSphere Application Server. Customers might be directed to the OSS Framework supplier for support on their specific offerings.
An example of the OSS Frameworks that IBM believes to be compatible with the WebSphere Application Server can be found at the following URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21625541
IBM makes no formal claim of how well related frameworks will actually perform and therefore is not able to include them as known “Supported Configurations” at this point in time. The level of support provided can also be referenced in WebSphere Application Server has grown and so have your requirement under the “Other Configurations” supported software category
