Web Store Auto Logout Issue

Troubleshooting

Problem

In mobile view of  web store application, store users gets logged out when they swipe the application screen towards right from edge of the screen.

Symptom

When the user swipes the screen towards right from edge of the screen, the user gets logged out of the store and is redirected to the login page.

Cause

By swiping from edge of the screen, user is effectively pressing the browser back button to go back to the login screen. The web store application works by redrawing the page using Angular JS to get to various portlets. When navigating between various portlets, the actual page in the browser remains the same. On a desktop browser, user easily notices that the address bar remains the same on each portlet as the store application is being used. When the user clicks the back button, the user is navigating back to the previous page, which was the login screen. Clicking the back arrow in the top left section of the screen will navigate the user back to home screen of the store application and the portlets can be navigated by clicking over the circle and swiping left or right.

Resolving The Problem

On an iOS mobile device, when a user swipes the page of a mobile device backwards while on the screen, the previous page appears. This would need to be handled at the user level by getting trained on "not to swipe the screen right" as this would logout the user session, this operation is similar to clicking the back button in a browser.
