Virtual machine with persistent memory volume may not be deployed on a viable host using scheduler policy

Troubleshooting

Problem

Virtual machine with persistent memory volume cannot be deployed using the placement policy.

Cause

While deploying a virtual machine with persistent memory volume, the virtual machine might deploy on a host that is not capable of handling persistent memory volume. This issue arises because placement policy is not enabled.

Environment

This issue might occur on HMC host or NovaLink host.

Resolving The Problem

This issue can be resolved by performing targeted deploy of virtual machine. Select a host that is capable of persistent memory volume while deploying the virtual machine.
