User synchronization between IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.8 and Maximo Manage 8.4 fails

Troubleshooting


Problem

In some cases, when a user record in IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.8 is modified and saved, the synchronization to Maximo Manage 8.4 fails, and user data is not updated in Maximo Manage.

Symptom

You modify a user record in IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.8, and the user is not updated in Maximo Manage 8.4.

Diagnosing The Problem

If user synchronization between Maximo Application Suite and Maximo Manage fails, in the Openshift console, check the usersyncagent pod log in the Manage workspace for the following messages:

2022-06-08 02:47:49,717 usersync-agent-manage INFO [<name of user>] synched: status_code: 500 r.text Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: psdi.util.MXSystemException: BMXAA1581E - No object with the name {0} is set up in the JNDI tree. Check the JMS/JNDI setup in the server administration console.

CWNEN1001E: The object referenced by the java:comp/env/ejb/maximo/remote/enterpriseservice JNDI name could not be instantiated. If the reference name maps to a JNDI name in the deployment descriptor bindings for the application performing the JNDI lookup, make sure that the JNDI name mapping in the deployment descriptor binding is correct. If the JNDI name mapping is correct, make sure the target resource can be resolved with the specified name relative to the default initial context.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the problem, complete the following steps:
  1. Restart the mea pod for Maximo Manage and wait until the pod fully starts.
  2. Open the Users application in Maximo Application Suite and save the user again.
After the synchronization is completed, the user error should be resolved.
