Symptom

You may experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Your Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 device does not operate in Hi-Speed mode.
  • An Enhanced Host Controller Interface-compliant (EHCI-compliant) USB host controller appears in Device Manager with an exclamation point in a yellow circle, or with status code 28.
Affected configurations

The system may be any of the following IBM eServer xSeries servers:

  • xSeries 335, type 8830, any model
  • xSeries 335, type 8676, any model
  • xSeries 306, type 8836, any model
  • xSeries 305, type 8673, any model
  • xSeries 226, type 8648, any model
  • xSeries 225, type 8647, any model
  • xSeries 206, type 8482, any model
  • xSeries 205, type 8480, any model
The system may be any of the following IBM IntelliStations:
  • Intellistation E Pro, type 6204, any model
  • Intellistation E Pro, type 6214, any model
  • Intellistation E Pro, type 6216, any model
  • Intellistation E Pro, type 6226, any model
  • Intellistation M Pro, type 6219, any model
  • Intellistation Z Pro, type 6221, any model
  • Intellistation Z Pro, type 6223, any model
  • Intellistation Z Pro, type 6227, any model
The following NOS(es) are affected:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, with any Service Pack applied
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, with any Service Pack applied
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server, with any Service Pack applied
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, with any Service Pack applied
Solution

To install USB 2.0 support in Windows 2000, install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or visit http://www.microsoft.com and download Microsoft USB Driver Version 5.1.2600.0 or higher.

Additional information
