Summary
Secret Server periodically polls an update server to detect for updates. However, if your Secret Server is on an internal network that either does not have outbound access or goes through a proxy, Secret Server will not be able to perform updates. Consider using the following steps to help you upgrade a server without outbound access.
Objective
You can allow for the updates to check or download updates on your firewall by allowing connections from your product's server to the following URLs:

Use the following steps to perform an upgrade for 10.5 and later versions.
Steps
1. Browse to the Upgrade Page
From a computer that does have outbound network access and Secret Server access, go to the Secret Server Upgrade page by browsing to: http://yourinstance/Installer.aspx?patch=true (filling in your Secret Server URL for 'yourinstance').
Backup your Secret Server application folder and your Secret Server database. Check the box on this page and click Continue.
2. Download the latest compressed file
Download the latest version compressed file by clicking the Download Latest Version link on the installer page. The file name will appear something like Version_10_2_000000.zip.

3. Upload the compressed file to Secret Server
Click Choose File and select the Secret Server compressed file that you just downloaded.
NOTE: You should not use the fresh install SecretServer.zip or setup.exe that is first downloaded from IBM Passport Advantage for new installations. Only the Get Latest Version link should be used, as there is a difference between the upgrade file and fresh install compressed file.
Click Upload Upgrade File. Once you see a message confirming the file was successfully uploaded, click Install this Version.
4. Begin the Upgrade
Select the Upgrade button to begin this upgrade.
The upgrade will automatically process and once it has finished you will see the following page. Click Return to Home to get back to the dashboard.
