Resolving The Problem
Procedure:

Before making any modifications to the Microsoft Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. For more information describing how to back up the registry, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986 |
---|
- Open the Microsoft registry (Start > Run > type regedit)
- Navigate to LOCAL_HKEY_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Telelogic > DOORS_SERVER > 9.x > Config
- Check the ServerData entry to en sure the path for the data directory is pointing to correct location
- Confirm that you have specified the database installation on separate folder called data
For example: C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS_9.x\data
- Confirm that the path to the database is local to the machine where your Rational DOORS DDBS is running, NOT on the shared/networked drive
- Check if the data directory has following files: servdata.lck, servdata.dtc
- If these files are present, either:
- Delete them
or
- Rename them to another name of your choice
- Check the port number assigned to the database in the registry editor
