Problem
In the Cognos Analytics interface, I am unable to select an active directory distribution list, only active directory distribution groups are visible.
Cause
This is a gap functionality in Cognos Analytics 11.0.x but has been addressed in 11.1.1.
Diagnosing The Problem
Scheduling a report via the Cognos Analytics interface by the following steps:
Team Content -> Select Properties for a report -> Schedule -> New -> Delivery -> Sent report by email -> To -> Active Directory Namespace
Only distribution groups are visible, not lists.
Resolving The Problem
You can still select distribution lists by scheduling it via the admin console instead.
Another option is to upgrade to Cognos Analytics 11.1.1.
