Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to delete duplicate objects in IBM ERM DOORS results in "Cannot delete - object(s) have # incoming links" error.
Symptom
A full error message is similar to:
Error: Cannot delete - object(s) have # incoming links (the first of which...)Cause

Procedure:
- Choose in the problem module View > Show Deletions and see whether one of the soft deleted objects in same hierarchy as the problem object has incoming links. If so, remove the links from the deleted objects.
- Check whether there were any links still showing in the associated link module.
Right-click on the object and go to object properties. Then, change to Links tab and confirm that there are no links.
Note:
If all the links appear to be deleted, and the problem or error still persists, continue to step 3.
- Run the script Link Repair Utility DXL in the target and source modules (see Attachment) link_repair_utility.zip). The DXL utility can repair or remove broken links.
Note:
There is a text file within the compressed file called link_repair_readme.txt contains instructions with use scenarios.
- Delete and purge the object.
