Problem
There are four report servers and, sometimes, reports fail on only two report servers with the following errors...
CNC-SDS-0410 CNC-SDS-0335 "send command to SMTP host"
CNC-SDS-0410 CNC-SDS-0335 "A system call received a parameter that is not valid"
CNC-SDS-0335 Error returned from SMTP Server. The error message was: [A system call received a parameter that is not valid. (Write failed)]. The message could not be sent.
Diagnosing The Problem
It was not possible to telnet to the production load balancer address which balances the gateways in mode active-passive from the problematic report servers.
Resolving The Problem
The issue was caused by a missing network route on the two problematic report servers. The network route was defined in the network areas delimitation i.e. public / administrative / service IPs and firewall zones.
