Troubleshooting
Problem
Why are we able to create TRL files if they are removed since JRules 6?
Symptom
Resolving The Problem
TRL is an acronym used in JRules version 5.x for "Technical Rule Language" which came with a "point and click" type of editor. This Technical Rule Language has been removed and is no longer supported since JRules 6. During migration, each TRL rule is mapped to a "technical rule" in JRules 6.
Technical rules in JRules 6 and later versions have a .trl file extension, but they are not the TRL rules in the sense of JRules 5. In JRules 6 and later versions, technical rules are edited with a text editor instead of a "point and click" type of editor. Technical rules are not deprecated nor removed in current versions of JRules. For more information on technical rules, you can refer to the following sections in the documentation: Technical rules and Working with technical rules.
