Question
How can production data be transferred to a lower environment for performance testing, given the smaller data size in the lower environment?
Answer
IBM does not support copying production data to lower environments due to security policy restrictions, especially concerning PI (a.k.a. Personal Information). Instead, consider the CDT (a.k.a. Configuration Deployment Tool) to import necessary configurations into the lower environment. Additionally, utilize APIs or multi-APIs to generate sample data in the lower environment for testing purposes. Alternative options must be explored for test data rather than moving production data across different environments.
P.S. The pre-production environment is an exact replica of production environment. It should be used for performance evaluation or testing.
