Total count form Sterling File Gateway Route wrong on report

Troubleshooting

Problem

The total count form Sterling File Gateway Route Detail by Consumer did not match the number from SFG dash board

Symptom

The total count form Sterling File Gateway Route Detail by Consumer did not match the number from SFG dash board

Cause

IBM Control Center counts events on Sterling File Gateway differently than Sterling File Gateway does.

Environment

6.0.0.1_iFix05 - build April 18 2016 17:08 running on Windows Server 2008 R2

Diagnosing The Problem

IBM Control Center has a Recent File Transfer Activity widget on the post-logon
dashboard, and it provides a file count based on the following
documented definition:

"Sterling B2B Integrator and Sterling File Gateway (B2Bi/SFG) - Every
completed protocol related event in Sterling B2B Integrator is recorded
as a file transfer. Additionally, every Sterling File Gateway Arrived
File status code is recorded as a successful (FG_0411 - Arrived File
Routed) or a failed (FG_0455 - Arrived File Failed) file transfer."

So depending on which protocol(s) are used to upload the files to the
producer mailbox, and whether IBM Control Center is configured to monitor those
protocols, the number on the IBM Control Center dashboard would likely not match SFG's
dashboard # either since the IBM Control Center dashboard # will include both the
protocol traffic (1 file transfer), and the arrived file success/fail
(2nd file transfer). Therefore the IBM Control Center dashboard will not exactly match
the # of arrived files on the SFG dashboard.

Resolving The Problem

New reports should be run based on the Producer rather than the consumer and should be run for a previous day to make sure files in flight don't skew the results.
