Problem

Working with TM1 cube created in 9.4 returns and error that the measure dimension is missing

Symptom

German: TM1-ERR-0003 Der Cube ('xxx') enthält keine Kennzahldimension English: TM1-ERR-0003 The cube ('xxx') does not contain a measure dimensionFrench: TM1-ERR-0003 Le cube ('xxx') ne contient aucune dimension de mesure

Cause

In TM1 9.4, the DefaultMeasureDimension is not explicitly defined. Previous releases defined the last dimension in the list as measure dimension.

Resolving The Problem

Set the DefaultMeasureDimension as documented in the IBM Cognos TM1 9.4 - Operations Guide (English) Steps: Open TM1 Web In the Administration pane open the cube properties Select the cube causing the error Modify the 'Measure Dimension' entry to select the appropriate measure dimension. Save your settings. Restart TM1 to update cache Alternative solution :

  • In TM1 Architect
  • Right-click on the cube and select "Properties"
  • Fill-in the "Measure dimension" field.
  • Restart TM1 server
