Abstract

An error may be encountered when using Oracle Java 8 update 131 or later when using the TEP client.
The error will say: Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to the system

This issue was first seen after Oracle made a change starting with Java 8 update 131 to not trust md5 signed jar files. See the following blog for more details:

The jar file utility used by IBM to resign jar files has been updated. TEPS jar files need to be submitted for resigning with the new signer utility as described in this technote:
