Troubleshooting
Problem
When testing the ticket service in Access Manager the following error appears:
Symptom
The Access Manager Server ticket service is not responding. Check the host and port settings and confirm that there are not any general network problems.
Resolving The Problem
1. Verify ticket service is correct server name and port
2. Stop and start the Cognos Access Manager Server (cerX) service
If the service does not exist, start the Access Manager - Server from Configuration Manager
Steps:To stop and start the Cognos Access Manager Server (cerX) service
1. On the ticket service server (i.e. where Access Manager Server is installed) navigate to Control Panel > Admistrative Tools > Services.
2. Right mouse click on the Cognos Access Manager Server (cerX) service
and select restart.
If the service is not listed in the Services window
1. Launch Configuration Manager
2. Open the Current Configuration
3. Expand Services and click on Access Manager - Server
4. Click Actions > Apply Selection
A successfully applied message should appear
5. Click Actions > Start Service
A successfully started message should appear
The Cognos Access Manager Server (cerX) service should now be started and can be confirmed from the Services window.
