Problem
Testing a SQL server Content Store in Cognos Configuration gives the following error.
Symptom
[Content Manager database connection]
[ ERROR ] The database connection failed.
[ ERROR ] Content Manager is unable to connect to the content store. Verify that the database connection properties in the configuration tool are correct and that when you test the connection, the test is successful.
Diagnosing The Problem
The required SQL JDBC jar files (sqljdbc42.jar and sqljdbc_auth.dll) are present in the \drivers folder of the Cognos install
Resolving The Problem
Steps:
1. Make a copy of the sqljdbc_auth.dll and put it in the \bin and \bin64 directories of the Cognos installation folder.
2. Restart services.
