Cause
Permission issues
Diagnosing The Problem
The following steps will help to understand the nature of the issue.
- In Internet Information Services(IIS) Manager, go to Application Pools, there should be a DOORSQualityCenterIntegrationAppPool at Running state.
As soon as it tries to test SOQ/TDI services, this DOORSQualityCenterIntegrationAppPool gets stopped with a status saying "Unspecified Error".
- Go to System Event Viewer, there is an error as below
And there are some warnings as below
- Open IIS Manager and click Web Sites > Right click Default Web Site > Properties > ASP.NET tab
- Ensure that ASP.NET version is selected as 2.0.50727
- Go to Web Service Extensions in IIS Manager and ensure ASP.NET 2.0.50727 is allowed
- Ensure IWSUSER is a member of the following groups:
- Administrators
- IIS_WPG
- QCI_Admin_Console_Users
- Try using local administrator, not a domain user, to login Windows still cause the same error.
Resolving The Problem
Before running Set Access Permission Wizard, login as local administrator during the installation of QCI server.
You can specify Domain\Groupname (for example, QCI_Server\QCI_Admin_Console_Users) under local administrator login.
Note: You should not use "localhost" as "Domain" name since it may cause some problem later in the process of running a configuration tool.
Delete the IWSUSER account and then run Set Access Permissions. Let the tool recreate the
IWSUSER account.
