 Preface

Welcome to the IBM Security Verify adapter for SCIM.

This Release Notes contain information for the following products that was not available when the IBM Security Verify Server manuals were printed:

IBM Security Verify Adapter for SCIM Installation and Configuration Guide

Adapter Features and Purpose

The SDI-based IBM Security Verify Adapter for SCIM is designed to reconcile users, groups and roles on SCIM supported applications . It also supports user management tasks such as account add, modify, suspend, restore and password change.

The adapter runs in "agentless" mode and communicates using HTTPS protocol.

The IBM Verify Adapters are powerful tools that require Administrator Level authority. Adapters operate much like a human system administrator, managing users, groups and permissions. Operations requested from the IBM Security verify Server will fail if the Adapter is not given sufficient authority to perform the requested task. IBM recommends that this Adapter run with administrative permissions.

The current release of this adapter does not support a proxy configuration or disable email notification configuration

Due to the conflict of OID between the IGI Realm Admin Adapter profile and SCIM Adapter Profile, LDAP schema OID of SCIM Adapter attributes had to change. When upgrading the SCIM adapter profile to 10.0.3 or later from 10.0.2 or earlier, the following change needs to be made in <tds_instance_home>/etc/V3.modifiedschema of TIM's directory server prior to installing the new profile.

Change all references of

1.3.6.1.4.1.6054.3.1.192

to

1.3.6.1.4.1.6054.3.1.194

The directory server needs to be restarted after making this change.

If the above steps are not made prior to installing the new profile then the installation may fail with the following error message in TIM's msg.log or trace.log:

CJL0004E Message key [LDAP: error code 16 - GLPSCH027E attribute type '1.3.6.1.4.1.6054.3.194.2.37' does not exist; replace operation failed. ] was not found in the message file tmsMessages .

The integration to the IBM Security Verify Server "the adapter framework" is supported. However, IBM does not support the customizations, scripts, or other modifications. If you experience a problem with a customized adapter, IBM Support may require the problem to be demonstrated on the GA version of the adapter before a case is opened.
