System requirements update for IBM Db2 11.5 Releases

Db2 11.5.9 System requirement changes:
Note: The following is only applicable to Db2 instances that use IBM Storage Scale or IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms
Db2 pureScale instances
  • IBM Storage Scale 5.1.81 and  IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms 4.1.1.1 bundled with Db2 11.5.9 dropped the support for the following list of the operating systems. This means Db2 does not support pureScale instances on the following list of the operating systems.
    • RHEL 8.4 (EUS May 30, 2023)
    • RHEL 7.9 (EUS June 30, 2024)
    • SUSE 12SP5 (EOS Oct 31, 2024)
    • SUSE 15SP3 (EOS Dec 31, 2022)
Db2 11.5.8 System requirement changes:
Db2 OS system detail for all instances  
  • The following operating systems have been removed from V11.5.8 support list as they have either reached end of support or their support life cycle ends before Db2 11.5 support life cycle.  Please be advised that the installation of the unsupported OS is blocked through "db2prereqcheck" and plan to upgrade your OS to a supported level before installation of Db2 11.5.8.0
    • AIX 7.2 TL3 (EOS Sep 30, 2021)
    • AIX 7.2 TL4 (EOS Nov 30, 2022)
    • RHEL 7.6 (EUS May 31, 2021)
    • RHEL 7.7 (EUS Aug 30, 2022)
Note: The following is only applicable to Db2 instances that use IBM Spectrum Scale.
Db2 pureScale instances
  • IBM Spectrum Scale 5.1.2.5 efix2 bundled with Db2 11.5.8 dropped the support for the following list of the operating systems that reached end of support dates. This means Db2 does not support pureScale instances on the following list of the operating systems.
    • RHEL 8.1 (EUS Nov 30, 2021)
Db2 11.5.7 System requirement changes:
Note: The following is only applicable to Db2 instances that use IBM Spectrum Scale.
Db2 pureScale instances
  • IBM Spectrum Scale 5.0.5.8 bundled with Db2 11.5.7 dropped the support for the following list of the operating systems that reached end of support dates. This means Db2 does not support pureScale instances on the following list of the operating systems.
    • RHEL 7.6 (EOS May 31, 2021)
    • RHEL 7.8
Db2 11.5.6 System requirement changes:
 
Note: The following is only applicable to Db2 instances that use IBM Spectrum Scale.
Db2 pureScale instances
 
  • IBM Spectrum Scale 5.0.5.5 bundled with Db2 11.5.6 dropped the support for the following list of the operating systems that reached end of support dates. This means Db2 does not support pureScale instances on the following list of the operating systems. Please be advised and plan to upgrade your OS to a supported level before installation of Db2 11.5.6:
    • SUSE 12SP4 (EOS 30 June 2020)
Db2 non-pureScale instances
  • It is recommended all customers to have their Db2 instances running on supported operating system level. Any Db2 case running on an unsupported operating system, which IBM believes that the issue is specific to operating system, IBM might require the customer reproduce the issue in a supported operating system.
Db2 11.5.4 System requirement changes:
  • Db2 pureScale instances
    • Due to COVID-19 pandemic circumstances pureScale support for Db2 11.5.4.0 is delayed until the next mod pack release and as a result, there is no pureScale support for Db2 11.5.4.0.  Attempt to create new or update from V11.5.0.0 instances will be blocked.
  • Db2 OS system detail for all instances  
    • The following operating systems have been removed from V11.5.4.0 support list as they have either reached end of support or their support life cycle ends before Db2 11.5 support life cycle.  Please be advised that the installation of the unsupported OS is blocked through "db2prereqcheck" and plan to upgrade your OS to a supported level before installation of Db2 11.5.4.0.

      • CentOS 7.5
