- AIX V6.1 Workload partitions (WPARs): eDiscovery Manager is installed in the System WPAR
- IBM PowerVM Hypervisor (LPAR, DPAR, Micro-Partition)
- VMWare ESX Version 4.0
- VMWare ESX Version 3.5
- VMWare ESXi Version 3.5
Note: In all virtual machine environments, each runtime instance must be supported by its own independent installation of product files.
eDiscovery Manager's performance might be impacted when running in a virtual environment. This should be taken into account when sizing your virtual environment.
Web application servers (eDiscovery Manager system)
The eDiscovery Manager server requires one of the following Web application servers, depending on the hardware platform.

Reminder for AIX systems: Set the umask value to 022 before installing WebSphere Application Server and any fix packs. See Preparing AIX systems for installation for more information about verifying and setting the umask value.
Lotus Domino server (eDiscovery Manager system)
If you want to enable your users to export Lotus Notes content or to view content by using Lotus Notes, you must install the Lotus Domino server on the eDiscovery Manager system. eDiscovery Manager requires only the Lotus Domino APIs, but these APIs are bundled with the Lotus Domino server; the APIs are not bundled separately. For this reason, you must install a Lotus Domino server on the eDiscovery Manager system or a logical partition.
