Support for OS Patch Compliance for macOS device

Release Notes

Abstract

Support for OS Patch Compliance for macOS device

Content

In the previous release, MaaS360 introduced support for Enrollment, OS versions, and Application Compliance for macOS. In 10.65, MaaS360 adds support for OS Patch Compliance. macOS devices that enroll into MaaS360 start reporting the patches that are missing based on severity.

This rule ensures that all the devices are up to date with the required OS patches. With this feature, administrators can enforce automated actions on macOS devices missing critical, important, moderate, and other important patches. Administrators can also define a compliance rule that can enforce actions like alert, corporate wipe, change policy, remove MDM control or factory reset on devices missing a defined number of patches per severity. This feature is also supported on Windows devices.

To create OS patch compliance rule,

  1. Navigate to Security > Compliance Rules.
  2. Click Add Rule Set, provide a rule set name, and click Continue.
  3. In Basic Settings tab in the sidebar, select macOS.
  4. Click Enforcement Rules.
  5. Select OS Patch Compliance rule and do the following:
    1. Define criteria for number of missing patches.
    2. Define enforcement action to be taken if the device is missing a defined number of patches per severity.
