Starting Rational DOORS database leads to error "This database is already served"

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to start an IBM Rational DOORS database results in the error "This database is already served".

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

This database is already served at <server>:366xx

Cause

The Rational DOORS database was backed up without disconnecting from Telelogic Directory Server or IBM Rational Directory Server.

Resolving The Problem

Procedure:

    1. Rename the tds_registered.txt and tds_valid.id.txt present in the data folder of the Rational DOORS installation

    2. Restart the Rational DOORS service
