Content
Spectrum Protect server in a DB2 cluster environment can fail to start after going from standby to active node. The server startup failure may show the following:
ANR0151W Database manager fails to start. For more info about the failure run db2start.
ANR0171I dbiconn.c(1916): Error detected on 0:1, database in evaluation mode.
ANR0169E An unexpected error has occurred and the IBM Spectrum Protect server is stopping.
ANR0162W Supplemental database diagnostic information: SQL1031N The database directory
on the indicated file system. SQLSTATE=58031
Symptom: The command: db2 catalog tsmdb1 on dfltdbpath may fail with sql6028n
Cause: The hostname on the active node was changed
Resolving the problem: To fix the problem do the following as root user:
1) Find the hostname that DB2 is configured to use. There are two options:
Option 1:
1) cd to the instance home directory and then cd to sqllib directory
For example: cd /home/tsminst1/sqllib
NOTE: The above path is an example, yours may be different.
2)Run cat command against the db2nodes.cfg configuration file.
For example:
cat /home/tsminst1/sqllib/db2nodes.cfg
Output will be similar to:
0 YourHostName 0
3) Change the hostname in O/S to hostname returned in above command.
Consult your system admin in you need help.
Option 2:
1) Check current setting within DB2 using the following command:
/home/tsminst1/sqllib/adm/db2set -all | grep -i DB2SYSTEM
Output will look similar to the following:
DB2SYSTEM=YourHostName
2) Change the hostname in O/S to hostname returned in above command
Please consult your system admin in you need help.
Spectrum Protect server should no longer fail to start with
SQL1031N and SQLSTATE=58031
