Problem
Special Characters (7 German Characters, &# Combinations) Cause Problems in XML (Platform)
Symptom
In Release 1.0b of Platform, special characters have to be sent in the format
"&#xxxx;" where "xxxx" is the Unicode number for the special character, and it
would appear on IE as the literal special character.
Platform2.0,
however, has a function introduced in the code which replaces all "&" with "&"
before sending it to the browser. Thus, the string "&#xxxx;" which is sent in
the CreateOrder XML is shown in IE as "&#xxxx;" and not as the special
character.
The View Source of this web page shows "&#xxxx;". While
replacing "&" with "&", there is a requirement to search for the pattern of
"&#" and exclude these cases for such a replacement. In other words, special
characters in different places in Platform were not displayed
correctly.

Cause
Resolving The Problem
A CR 11537 has been registered on this issue. This issue has been fixed in Rel 2.0-SP3-HF12.
