Abstract
The upgrade of complex application software such as SAP products is a resource- and time-consuming task. It requires a well prepared project plan and detailed knowledge about the procedure and the used tools. This document describes the use of SAPs standard tool “SAP Software Update Manager” running on platform IBM i. It is intended to be a supplement to SAPs upgrade documentation and represents a collection of review steps based on SAP/IBM documentation, SAP Notes, and experiences of the SAP on IBM i Development team.
