On running containerizeWave system generates a dummy container for the shipment? Why?

Troubleshooting

Problem

On running containerizeWave system generates a dummy container for the shipment? Why?

Symptom

On running containerizeWave system generates a dummy container for the shipment? Why?
What is a dummy container? When does system generate the dummy containers?
How do I associate the dimensions to this container?

Cause

Resolving The Problem

Dummy container is a container having empty dimensions i.e length, width and height equal to 0.

During containerize Wave if the system generates a dummy container, then the possible conditions are:

Items cannot fit inside the pre-defined containers due to:

1) Volume and Dimension constraints.
For Ex: Item dimensions (l,w,h) are greater as compared to the container dimensions (l,w,h)

2) Weight constraints defined in the Container.
For Ex: Container can hold 100 pounds, Item's weight is 1000 pounds

3) The classification/category of the Item and the container does not match.
For Ex: Item belongs to category C1 and Container belongs to category C2

4) Containers are reserved for specific Buyers. But the buyer in the shipment is not one among them.
For Ex: Container is reserved for Buyer1 and the Buyer specified in the shipment is Buyer2.

In order to associate the dimensions to the dummy container, go to the Pack station, scan the container SCM. In the size tab, select the size of the containers from the drop-down or enter the length, width and height.
