RTAM(Real Time Availability Monitor) activity based mode does not publish group level (Enterprise) messages for all DG's

Question & Answer

Question

When running RTAM in activity based mode, why does RTAM not publish messages for all DG's set up for Group level (Enterprise) monitoring on 9.3? This behaviour was not seen in 9.2.1

Answer

Consider the below scenario:

1. Create the following distribution groups

DG1 : 37, 40, 44, 5056,5660
DG2 : 37, 40, 44
DG3 : 5056, 5660
2. Subscribe DG1, DG2 for enterprise level monitoring
3. Subscribe DG3 for node level monitoring
4. Adjust inventory in Node 5056. Run RTAM .
5. RTAM published Two Messages :
One each for Node 5056 and Distribution Rule ID: DG1 (DG2 is not published)

6. Now adjust inventory in node 37. Run RTAM
7. RTAM published Two Messages :
one each for Distribution Rule ID: DG1 and Distribution Rule ID: DG2

The above behaviour is working as expected.

With the introduction of RTAM supporting availability monitoring in multiple DG; there were issues where RTAM monitors the ship nodes without any change in availability. This was reported and fixed in version 9.3 and higher.
RTAM is not supposed to monitor any DG where there is no activity created or availability impacted.

In this case since there is no change in availability in DG2 (inventory is adjusted in Node 5056 which does not belong to DG2), RTAM will not publish any change for DG2.
