IBM Support

RTAM is not considering the on-hand Safety Factor defined for Pickup fulfillment method

Troubleshooting

Problem

Attempts to run Real Time Availability Monitor (RTAM) does not consider the on-hand Safety Factor defined for Pickup fulfillment method in IBM Sterling Order Management System 9.4 ?

Symptom

Steps to simulate:

  1. Setup RTAM to run in Mode 1 for an Item I1 and Node N1.

  2. Define onhand safety factor for I1 item as 5 for Ship Fulfillment method and as 3 for Pickup Fulfillment method.

  3. Increase the onhand inventory from 9 to 12 and observe the RTAM output xml. It shows onhand quantity as 7.

  4. Now, call findInventory API with SHIP delivery method, it shows onhand quantity as 7; And when called with PICKUP fulfillment method then it shows the quantity as 9.

RTAM is not considering the safety factor defined for pickup method but findInventory API does considers it.

Cause

This behavior is Working as designed in Sterling OMS 9.4.

Resolving The Problem

RTAM only considers the safety factors for the availability only for SHIP method and NOT for PICKUP .
