Problem

Resolving [Fatal Error] :4:55: SAXParseException: element type "YFS_HOME" error when running CDT

Symptom

When starting the Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) (either the GUI for Windows via the ydk.cmd script, or the command-line version for Windows or UNIX/Linux via the cdtshell.[cmd|sh] script), the following exception is thrown:

[Fatal Error] :4:55: The element type "YFS_HOME" must be terminated by the match ing end-tag "</YFS_HOME>".
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "YFS_HOME" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</YFS_HOME>".

Cause

Resolving The Problem

This is a similar error to, and sometimes appears in conjunction with

<Error ErrorCode="YDK0001"

</Error>

and also occurs when CDT configuration files ydkconfig.xml and ydkprefs.xml have not been modifed to REPLACE references to generic placeholder <YFS_HOME> with a FULL PATH name.
