How do you reset the database passwords for SiteProtector components?
Answer
It is sometimes necessary to reset the password of the SiteProtector components in order to restore login access to RealSecureDB. The instructions below describe this procedure for the following components:
Resetting the Application Server's password:
Resetting the Agent Manager's password:
Resetting the Event Collector's password:
- Application Server
- Agent Manager
- Event Collector
Resetting the Application Server's password:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio on server on which the SiteProtector Database is installed.
- Go to Security > Logins.
- Find the user titled IssApp. Right-click on the user and select Properties.
- Change the password in the properties to something you will remember and click OK.
- Find the user titled RPDMLogin. Right-click on the user and select Properties.
- Change the password in the properties to something you will remember and click OK.
- Open the Services tool on the server on which the SiteProtector Application Server is installed.
- Stop the following services:
SiteProtector Application Server Service
SiteProtector Sensor Controller Service
- Go to the following location:
\Program Files\ISS\SiteProtector\Application Server
- Run
CoreLogin.exe
. - Using the same new passwords that you entered in SQL in the previous steps, change the passwords for the Application Server and click OK.
- Start the two services that you stopped in step 8.
Resetting the Agent Manager's password:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio on server on which the SiteProtector Database is installed.
- Go to Security > Logins.
- Find the login called AgentManager_HOSTRNAME, where HOSTNAME is the name of the server on which the Agent Manager in installed.
- Right-click on the login and select Properties.
- Change the password in the properties to something you will remember and click OK.
- Open the Services tool on the server on which the Agent Manager is installed.
- Stop the issDaemon service.
- Go to the following location:
\Program Files\ISS\SiteProtector\Agent Manager
- Run
AMLogin.exe
. - Using the same new password that you entered in SQL in the previous steps, change the password for the Agent Manager and click OK.
- Start the issDaemon service.
Resetting the Event Collector's password:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio on server on which the SiteProtector Database is installed.
- Go to Security > Logins.
- Find the login that is called EventCollector_HOSTNAME, where HOSTNAME is the name of the server on which the Event Collector in installed.
- Right-click on the login and select Properties.
- Change the password in the properties to something you will remember and click OK.
- Open the Services tool on the server on which the Event Collector is installed.
- Stop the issDaemon service.
- Go to the following location:
\Program Files\ISS\SiteProtector\Event Collector
- Run
ECLogin.exe
. - Using the same new password that you entered in SQL in the previous steps, change the password for the Event Collector and click OK.
- Start the issDaemon service.
